Drew Fitzgerald - Head Coach

Drew Fitzgerald enters his 3rd season as A.M. Barbe High School’s Boys Head Soccer coach.

Fitzgerald enters his 4th season as a Cowgirl assistant. The 2001 graduate of Texas A&M earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas A&M. He spent the 2004 season as an intern for the Aggies soccer team helping with business operations and marketing. His duties included compiling a visitor's guide and a travel guide for parents, fans, players and coaches.

From 2003-05 he served as a graduate assistant in the Recreational Department and served as head coach of the men's club team. He led the first team to one national championship, a quarterfinal appearance and a league championship. He also led that team to two regional co-championships. His 2005 team posted an 18-0-1 overall record.

He coached the second team to a league co-championship and national open tournament quarterfinal appearances.

Fitzgerald was a member of the 2000-01 Texas A&M men's club team where they were national champions.

From 2000-2002 he served as co-head coach at Allen Academy High where they were state champs once and reached the playoffs twice.

Fitzgerald holds an advanced NSCAA regional diploma, goalkeeper I and II diploma, USSF "D" national license. He recently received his NSCAA National Diploma.

Cody Gardiner - Assistant Coach

Cody Gardiner enters his 3rd year as Assistant Coach for A.M. Barbe High School Boys Soccer team.

 Gardiner has obtained the USSF E coaching license.  Last season he was the goal keeper coach at Sulphur High where Rodney Jones, the starting Goal Keeper, received 1st team all-district and is considering playing with Louisiana college.  He has also spent time working with youth soccer teams. 

      From a personal achievement standpoint, as a freshman at Barbe High School he was the only freshman to make the initial varsity squad, and he started most games. He also played on a local select team (CFC) through his sophomore year.  During his sophomore year he was named the starting goal keeper and he received Team MVP and All-district honorable mention.  His junior year he was named team captain. He was named Fox sportsperson of the week with 26 saves in a winning game versus Acadiana High.  He again received 1st team all-district honors, and defensive MVP for the team.                

During his senior year he was again named team captain and earned 1st team all district honors for the second year in a row.  He also received the "Jim Riley" award.  The award winner was selected by the team for the player they felt represented hard work and dedication both on and off the field.
