As one of the largest youth development programs in the United States, 4-H's mission combines fun with education.

 Through the community of 4-H, youth learn skills they will benefit from forever. No matter what topic a 4-H program focuses on,

4-H always centers around three areas, leadership, citizenship, and life skills.

Youth in grades K-12 can participate through character education or after-school programs.  Youth in grades 4-12 can join a 4-H school club organized

in most schools in Louisiana. While 4-H has its beginnings in rural America, 4-H now serves young people and volunteers from major urban centers

 and from suburban communities and rural non-farm settings as well.
