WELCOME
The John S. Nicosia
chapter of the National Honor Society at Barbe High School is a senior club
only. Those juniors with a minimum GPA of 3.75 after five semesters of high
school will receive an application in the spring.
Grade point average is only one of the four
areas needed to attain membership in the NHS. The other three areas include
Service, Leadership, and Character. Applicants must provide documentation of
a high level of attainment in all four areas in addition to receiving
a unanimous vote by a faculty committee to be a member.
Once a member, the
students will attend monthly meetings, participate in a club service
project, maintain the GPA, demonstrate leadership throughout the community
and school, and participate in the annual induction ceremony for incoming
members.
